Private Practice

Thu, 11/15/2007 - 12:39PM by kikischnapps 1 Comment - 200 Views

I was not really impressed with last nights private practice. I don't know, it just wasn't that captivating. And i really feel like cooper and violet should either be together or not together. see, when violet was unaware of how cooper felt about her, it was one thing, but the whole let's just be casual "buddies" thing, well...I don't know. I just wasn't a fan. I normally really like this show, but not last night. And does anyone else feel like the character Addison on private practice is not the same Addison from Grey's Anatomy. I watched to first episode she was on Greys the other day, and she was fiesty and hard and kinda in your face. She's so quirky now. I like her...but it just feels like a completely different character... what do ya'll think?

Salsa Burgers

Wed, 11/14/2007 - 1:32PM by kikischnapps 0 Comments - 103 Views

I love these burgers because they taste great, but are low calorie and low fat. Also, the salsa and red onion give them a real kick!

Ingrediants:
3/4 pound of lean ground beef
1 large egg
3 Tbsp seasoned bread crumbs
1 Tbls canned chopped green chilies; drained
1 small garlic clove
1 Tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp chipotle chili powder
1/2 tsp salt
4 hamburger buns
4 thin slices red onion
1/2 cup prepared salsa

1) Combine the beef, egg, bread crumbs, chilies, garlic, basil, chili powder, and salt in a medium bowl. With damp hands, form the mixture into 4 (1/2 inch thick) patties

2) Spray a medium nonstick skillet with nonstick spray and set over medium high heat. Add patties and cook to desired doneness (about 5-6 minutes for medium)

3) Place the burgers in the buns and add 1 slice of red onion per burger and 2 Tbsp of salsa per burger.

Serves 4 only tikes like 15 to 20 minutes, and they are so good!!

A great apple pie recipe

Sat, 06/09/2007 - 7:10AM by kikischnapps 1 Comment - 620 Views

I found this recipe online and it's by Rebecca Clyma. My roommate and I tried it last night SO GOOD!

Ingredients:
2 frozen 9 inch deep dish pie shells
1/2 cup unsalted butter
3 tablespoons all purpose flour
1/2 cup of white sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup water
8 Granny Smith apples--peeled, cored, and sliced

Directions:

1. Melt butter in a sauce pan. Sitr in flour to form a paste. Add white sugar, brown sugar, and water; bring to a boil. Reduce temperature, and simmer 5 minutes.

2. Meanwhile, place the bottom crust in your pan. Fill with apples, mounded slightly. Cover with a lattice work of crust. Gently pour the sugar and butter liquid over the crust. Pour slowly so that it does not run off. (very important because if it runs off it smells like the pie is burning.)

3. Bake 15 minutes at 425 degrees F. Reduce the temp to 350 degrees F and continue baking for 35 to 45 minutes.

Ok, this is the recipe exactly as I have it, but some advice: my oven runs hot, but I found that 15 minutes at 425 was too long because my crust got brown before my apples had soften.
Also, very important to do the lattice crust because white just on top the sauce is delicious, when mixed in the pie it gives the apples some moisture. Enjoy!!

This is just a random sampling of my little group. I call them my "Sex and the City Group" because we all have other friends, but this is our main core!
